This is a project we did for Transition Town Asheville, a group that seeks to create a community-wide plan for coping with the decline of oil and the need to largely abandon the use of fossil fuels.

We will be adding an online signup form to the site, which will in turn create a password-protected signup database that will be accessible to TTA staff over the net.

First Stage Youth Theatre is a nonprofit that sponsors theatre programs for middle and high school students in Madison County and surrounding areas.

Our first goal was to design a distinctive website themed to their programs and their audience.

And, since First Stage is administered by an all-voluteer Board, we also offered to assist them in streamlining their paperwork processes around registration and payment processes, which formerly were completely manual. The first step involved creating an online form to capture registration information electronically, which will significantly reduce processing time and errors.

In addition, this online data will be stored in a web-accessible database, so that program administrators can access data from any location that has Internet access. Future plans call for online payments, an email marketing and announcement system, and web cam of performances.

From the Point. For a number of years, I wrote a business book review column that was syndicated to business weeklies and monthlies all across the country.

I have recently returned to writing book reviews and articles on the subject of sustainable change in America.
